HOLLYWOOD, Calif., June 4, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- Nickelodeon revealed the nominees for its annual slime-filled Kids' Choice Awards, with over 50 first-time nominees from across the worlds of film, television, music, sports and more. Hosted by SpongeBob SquarePants (voiced by Tom Kenny) and Patrick Star (voiced by Bill Fagerbakke), Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards 2024 will premiere live from their undersea home of Bikini Bottom on Saturday, July 13, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT).

First-time nominees include Halle Bailey, Austin Butler, Sabrina Carpenter, Kai Cenat, Timothée Chalamet, Luke Combs, Ariana DeBose, Ayo Edebiri, Ryan Gosling, Reneé Rapp, Margot Robbie, Paul Rudd, among others. Leading the pack with six nods is Taylor Swift, followed by Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo and Justin Timberlake, with four nominations each. Musical performances and presenters will be announced at a later date.

KCA will continue to put kids and families in control as they are transported to the biggest party of the summer in Bikini Bottom. This year's show will also feature: enhanced graphics, high-tech motion capture and augmented reality; fun celebrity collaborations and stunts as Nickelodeon celebrates SpongeBob SquarePants' special birthday; and the net's signature orange blimp award and epic slimings. Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards 2024 will simulcast across Nickelodeon, TeenNick, Nicktoons, the Nick Jr. channel, TVLand, CMT and MTV2.

Beginning today, fans in the U.S. can cast their votes across 33 categories on the official Kids' Choice Awards website, KidsChoiceAwards.com. International markets will also open voting today, including additional regional categories.

The transformative gift will support the continued expansion of the Music Department with a wider focus on contemporary music, enhancement of the music business curriculum, and will allow for adding cutting-edge technology and up-to-date sound production facilities for use by students in the College's nationally renowned music program, which Billboard magazine named to its list of top music business schools for four consecutive years.

The Institute will work with community colleges, in particular Los Angeles City College (LACC), to establish a direct pathway to increase transfer opportunities for students with diverse backgrounds and perspectives interested in furthering their education in music to come to Oxy. The Institute will also develop special programming and joint research activities in conjunction with the Harvard Negotiation Project, which is based at Harvard Law School and directed by Professor Jim Sebenius of the Harvard Business School. Peter Grueneisen of nonzero architecture has been engaged to renovate the Music Department's facilities.

Tim becomes the fourth commissioner in UFA history

LOS GATOS, CA, UNITED STATES, June 3, 2024 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Tim DeByl has been elected as the new chief executive officer (CEO) and commissioner of the Ultimate Frisbee Association (UFA). Previously the league’s chief operating officer (COO), Tim becomes the fourth commissioner in UFA history, joining Josh Moore (2012-2013), Steve Gordon (2013-2018) and incumbent Steve Hall (2018-2024). He will also continue as the co-owner and head coach of the UFA’s Madison Radicals. This new transition will take effect immediately.

Sydney fondly recounts, “I remember as clearly as if it was yesterday that I was a good student, but not a great student. I had good test scores, but not great test scores. I was not ranked at the top of my class, and when no one at my school thought that I had any chance of being offered admission to The University of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Wynn were steadfast in their belief that I could get in. I did not find out about the college planning cohort program until the second semester of my junior year of high school. When I told Mr. and Mrs. Wynn that my top college choice was The University of Chicago, they helped me to see myself through my résumé and high school course taking. They helped me plan how to assume more leadership roles, engage in meaningful community service, and ensure that I was taking the most rigorous classes possible. The Foundation for Ensuring Access and Equity’s College Planning Cohort Program has been recognized by the National School Boards Association as a 2020 MAGNA Award recipient through their partnership with Guilford County Schools (NC) and expanding postsecondary pathways for first generation and refugee students. Since beginning their program at the Turner Chapel AME Church in Marietta, Georgia in 2013, the community-based organization has partnered with Florence School District 3 (SC), Guilford County Schools (NC), Judson ISD (TX), and Pinellas County Schools (FL). In-person monthly sessions are offered in Florida and South Carolina, and students are able to participate in virtual sessions from throughout the country.

Dr. Anne-Marie Brown, a Pinellas County Schools' parent who had two children participate in the program, laments, “With Dr. Brinson’s retirement, we do not know if anyone will step into his shoes as a champion for students from our community. Children who are the first in their family to attend college must navigate an oftentimes difficult and confusing postsecondary landscape. The EP has bookends signifying a book with many chapters. The first song, “The Drawer,” paints a heartbreaking picture of a treacherous and toxic relationship that started with passion and ended with abuse and a new-found strength. The next song, ”Meet Me Anywhere,” is a hopeful but longing plea for a close friend to stop looking elsewhere for love when it is right next door. The third song, “Fatal Attraction” takes on a dark, haunting rock tone describing a relationship so full of fire and passion that it becomes intoxicating and dangerous. The chorus is not only an earworm but perfectly underscores how a relationship can be so hot that it can combust at any second – “I want you to come around but I know you’re a fatal attraction, when I’m with you, it feels like I’ve just touched off a chemical action.”

The fourth song “Twinkle” has an accompanying full-length video directed by Kelsie that is also being released today. It is about a 12-year-old transgender girl named Dempsey Jara, and it represents Kelsie’s celebration of transgender youth at a time when some factions of society want to vilify and erase them. It is the only song on the EP with a Latin flavor whose video was filmed in the beautiful city of Cartagena, Colombia. The seventh song, “Summertime’s Gone,” is a forlorn and poignant tune about young lovers who meet over the summer but have to leave each other at summer’s end. And finally, the last song “Recovery” is about how the stresses of young life can lead to destructive behavior that, if left unchecked, can result in disaster. Here Kelsie sings, “Apologies, for all those who I hurt in my life…I want to say thank you to all my friends and family, thank you for believing in me when I did not believe in me.”

The Mandel/Murphy meetup happened backstage at a venue Landau was very familiar with, having performed four sold-out concerts at the Paramount Arts Center during previous tours.

The recent meetup between Mandel and Murphy has sparked a wave of speculation among fans. With the new season of 'America's Got Talent' just around the corner, many eagerly anticipate the possibility of Landau making a guest appearance on the show that launched his career.

Longtime fans of “America’s Got Talent” will remember Landau’s audition when Murphy spotted Howie from the stage, perfectly imitated one of Mandel’s character voices and said, “I love you, Howie!” to the displeasure of fellow judge Piers Morgan. However, it was Morgan who asked Landau to appear on his CNN program just months after Landau’s “America’s Got Talent’ win and said of Murphy “Could I see Landau headlining his own show in Las Vegas? Absolutely!”

Since winning AGT, Landau has continued a long and active career leading his "Landau Little Big Band." He has released five successful albums, been nominated for multiple industry and civic awards, toured across four continents performing hundreds of sold-out concerts, raised millions for charities, and oversees his annual "Landau Kids Joy Toy Drive." PORTSMOUTH, N.H., June 13, 2024 (Newswire.com) - Director Harrison Buck and his production studio Pandion Creative announced the acceptance of their feature documentary, Meko, into the 2024 Maine Outdoor Film Festival.

The full-length documentary, produced in association with oakpool, a multi-disciplinary media agency and studio, stars professional fishing guide Omeko “Meko” Glinton as he navigates extreme obstacles to pursue his lifelong dream of owning his own bonefishing lodge in his native Grand Bahama. Said Buck, “The best documentaries in my mind start out with a great story and uncover an even better one. We set out to make a film about a guide and his family and it turned into something much bigger.”

Meko's acceptance into the 2024 festival marks the second time Buck has found one of his features screened at his neighbor- state's festival. In 2014, Buck’s film The Tightest Line, also starring Glinton, debuted to much fanfare at the Portland-based festival setting the stage for Buck’s larger feature project.

Far from your typical “grip-and-grin” fishing film, Meko is set to debut on the 2024 film festival scene with a powerful message for those who hold affection for wild places and the people who live in them. Said Buck, “We have all along been trying to make a film that is far away from the industry standard of being fish-landing-focused...We have a story about a man, his family and legacy and all of that their community has gone through. There is a little bit of something for everyone to resonate with on a human-level.”

Running from July 24-28th, The Maine Outdoor Film Festival has been a Portland staple for over 12 years. With over 190 submissions per year and 95 films selected - the festival is an opportunity for filmmakers to get their vision in front of over 1,500 attendees. Overall, only 10 awards are given to filmmakers each year, meaning Meko will have to angle for a different kind of trophy at this year’s festival in the feature film category.

With Meko currently on the festival circuit, the team at oakpool and Pandion are angling for placement in streaming services with the goal being to create a groundswell of awareness and support for the people of the Bahamas and the uncertainty they face due to warming oceans and violent storms.

Union members working at the outdated Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk continued to provide the best care under difficult conditions. Today, following a 7-year-long wait, New York State has finally released the necessary funds to build a new modern Brooks Memorial Hospital to serve the residents of Northern Chautauqua County.

The Governor’s announcement today provides renewed hope of keeping access to quality care local. Thanks to Governor Kathy Hochul, thousands of residents will have a new modern facility to receive healthcare in their community for many years to come.

“It’s a huge win for the residents of Northern Chautauqua County to maintain access to healthcare close to home,” said Tara Walrod, a Radiologic Technologist and 1199SEIU member at Brooks.

In October of last year, hospital workers organized a huge public rally at the hospital’s entrance and in March brought the community together for a forum[1] to urge the New York State Department of Health to disperse funding.

Miami Swim Week Powered By Art Hearts Fashion 2024 dazzled with a blend of style, trends, and unforgettable moments. Celebrating Memorial Day weekend, Art Hearts Fashion kicked off the festivities with Miami Model Week, featuring model castings, pool parties, networking events, and after-parties.
